Accumulator & Powertrain

The Accumulator & Powertrain Department is responsible for all high-voltage systems of our racecar, ensuring that the electrical energy stored in the accumulator is safely and efficiently delivered to the motors. Our goal is to design, build, and optimize the complete electric powertrain, including the accumulator, while meeting the strict safety standards of Formula Student regulations.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing the high-voltage accumulator, with a strong focus on performance and safety.
  • Developing the high-voltage path and ensuring proper insulation, protection, and integration with the racecar.
  • Dimensioning the powertrain to achieve the best balance between performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Performing safety analyses and implementing protective devices required by competition rules.
  • Battery Management System control which overviews cells monitoring and balancing, while keeping the battery pack within safe operation limits.

What is expected from applicants:

  • Interest in electrical engineering, energy storage and/or power electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of circuits and batteries is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn about high-voltage systems and their strict safety requirements.
  • Analytical mindset and careful approach when working with sensitive components.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work with safety as a top priority.
  • Commitment to attend department meetings, workshops and to bring consistent contribution.

By joining this department, new members will gain practice-based experience with high-voltage system design, battery safety and power electronics. The work requires strong technical responsibility, offering valuable knowledge applicable both in motorsport and in the rapidly growing battery design industry.
